Vicksburg, Mississippi - River Town Campground Review

In Vicksburg, Mississippi I stayed at the River Town campground. Conveniently located on Highway 61, it took about 15 minutes to get to downtown Vicksburg. The pull-through sites were set up in rows with a little bit of green grass and a picnic table between each camper. (Unfortunately for me, the grass around my picnic table had fire ants - boohoo). I had full electric, water and sewer hook-ups. With my Good Sams membership I paid $24.00 a night. The campground was fairly quiet, with just a little bit of noise from traffic. I did check out two other campgrounds in the area. The first, Magnolia was also on Highway 61. It was located behind abandoned industrial warehouses and fenced areas. I didn't like the feel. The second was the Ameristar casino campground. I would strongly discourage others from this place as the sites were significantly sloped.

If you want to stay in the area to visit the military park or go hiking in the state parks, I recommend this campground. If you are interested in Rivertown, I took a photo of the map that they gave to me when I checked in. Their phone number is 601-630-9995. They have 4 star reviews on the All Stays app and for the price I paid, I think I got a good value. If you have any questions about the park or my stay in Vicksburg, Mississippi, put them in the comment section below.
