Have you ever been
going about your day when a smell transports you to another time and place? This is especially true for me and many of my favorite memories are
connected to my sense of smell. If you are a big Disney World fan like me, you know that Disney’s Imagineers use
scents throughout the park to help create that "Disney magic".
Different rides and resorts have unique scents that help to immerse you in
the experience. For example, the original Soarin' ride used the scent of oranges when
you flew over the California coast to help you feel as if you were really
there (What a great experience!). Magic Kingdom's Main Street always smells like
popcorn and cookies to me and the Grand Floridian has a spa-like, calming
smell. Maybe that is why I feel so happy when I am there.
Now, to recreate that Disney World smell, maybe you bought candles online so you can be reminded of Disney once you return back home. Unfortunately, these may not be healthy for you as many store-bought candles contain toxic chemicals. So, if you want to recreate some "healthier" Disney magic of your own, why not try using your essential oils and a diffuser? Not only do you have the fun of recreating some Disney magic, but you get to enjoy the aromatherapy benefits from grade A pure essential oils at the same time!
Today I watched a really fun YouTube video by Annie, where she shared
some ideas on how to recreate the smells of Disney World in a healthier way using
essential oils. These recipes are based on diffusers similar in size to
the Desert Mist or Dew Drop from Young Living. If you are using a larger
diffuser like an Aria, double the number of drops in each recipe. I also
plan to experiment with these recipes using witch hazel and water to create
room sprays, so I will halve the amount.
